A perfect condo stay in Akumal
First I would like to say that all the condos in Akumal are very nice and
we have looked at most of them through the years.
I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any of them.
We always stay in a condo on Half Moon Bay in Akumal.
We have stayed at a few over the years; the list follows from South to North:
Vista Del Mar
Lol Kanaab (twice)
Playa Blanca (three times)
Playa Caribe (three times)
Luna Azul (many times)
Hacienda de la Tortuga

There are about 10 individual units in each building and each unit is individually owned.
They all have similar layouts as far as construction, but each is furnished and
decorated by the owner. This makes for a lot of variety in the same building.
All of them have a good size balcony or patio and most come
with 1 or 2 hammocks perfect for those afternoon siestas!
They are all beautiful and right on the beach about 20 steps from the water's edge.
Most of them are 2-3 bedroom units with everything you need for a stay in paradise.
Some also have Casitas which are one bedroom units facing the street.
(There are no elevators there so if stairs are a problem, choose a ground floor unit.)
The kitchens are fully stocked with everything but the food!
We go out to eat every day, but not every meal and it is nice to be able to make
some meals and especially snacks when you are tired and don't feel like going out.
Most have blenders for smoothies and margaritas which is nice too!
They all have beach chairs for their guests and quite a few have palapas,
which are welcome shade in the heat of the day!
Half Moon Bay is a peaceful, quiet place perfect for spending the days
lounging on the beach and snorkeling in the bay.
There are a lot of things to do around Akumal as well,
and over the years our beach time has dwindled as we have ventured
out and discovered more of the beautiful wonders of the Riviera Maya.
I want to see a lot more of the world someday,
but it seems that Mexico has my soul.
