The Turtle Bay Cafe

When you're on vacation you don't really like waking up early and making 3 meals a day while you're trying to sit on the beach all day. This is especially true in the morning, which is why I look forward to eating breakfast at The Turtle Bay Cafe & Bakery on my first morning in Akumal. They make a great authentic Mexican breakfast, and they have absolutely delightful staff members.

Internet access is important to a lot of people, eve on vacation. That's why the owners are giving free wireless internet access to their diners, so feel free to spend hours here! It's not hard since since they server breakfast and lunch, as well as coffee, fruit smoothies, sandwiches and fresh baked goods. You could waste a whole afternoon trying new delicious items in their beautiful garden.

Almost everybody who has been to Akumal has at least heard of The Turtle Bay Cafe. That's because this is the one place visitors and locals aren't afraid to recommend to you, because they always has amazing food and they keep their customers happy.

If the kids get bored, there are a few stores right next door that they can do a little tourist shopping in while you enjoy your breakfast. And the beach is just a 2 minute walk across the street, so bring your towels and snorkel gear and go for a swim after you're done eating.

The Turtle Bay Cafe is open every day at 7am and serves breakfast until 12pm (noon). Then from noon to 3pm they serve lunch, then close up shop. From Thursday to Saturday they re-open from 6pm to 9pm for dinner. They also offer catering services as well as private parties of 100 people or more, so there's no reason not to try their amazing food while you're in Akumal.
